Da Zoo...Da Zoo...

Why I smiled today...Victor text paged me with a photo of Charlie on the zoo train.

They spent a few hours up at the zoo today and Charlie had a great time (as always). They saw lots of animals and went thru the dinosaur exhibit that is on display thur Sept. 1st. She only got scared once...when one of the dinosaurs sneezed on her...Kinda like Jurassic Park.

We are hoping to see the new baby boy elephant that was born last week, sometime soon. We aren't sure when he & his mommy (Rose-Tu) are going to be allowed back out in public view, but we can't wait!

Lumber Delivered...

Why I smiled today...Framing starts tomorrow!!!

Ten on Tuesday...

I haven't done this in a LONG time, but I thought it appropriate today to list 10 things I'm thankful for!!! There are literally thousands of things I'm thankful for..these are just the top 10 (most of which are always in the top 10).
  1. Family (I don't have a big family, but I'm grateful for every single one of them)!
  2. Friends (wish I could see everyone of you more)
  3. Good health
  4. My job (20 years and going strong)
  5. Our home (which we will be moving back into soon)...
  6. My car (just flipped 94,000 miles yesterday--Go Bessie, Go)
  7. Our home state of Oregon (what an awesome place to live)
  8. Our blog (so glad I'm documenting our life out there somewhere so I'll remember what/where/who we did things with back in day)
  9. Our country (even during election time)...only 10 weeks from today we'll be picking our new president...
  10. My life...it takes a lot of strange twists and turns, but there is a reason I'm here and I'm gonna enjoy the ride...you just never know where it's gonna take you next!

Yes, we are trying to put as much into our weekends as possible before summer is over and Victor's final term of school starts up...Why I smiled today...Charlotte having a blast at the Oregon State Fair and NOT getting scared to death by the sheep this year!

Yes, this is a cake!

Putt-Putt Golf...

After the farmers market, we decided to try out a round of putt-putt golf. Charlie LOVES helping Victor pick-up the golf balls in the field (that don't quite make it past the property line). She also loves to practice her putting at the golf store.

SO...Why I smiled today...Not only did Charlie have the best score, she was also the only one of the three of us to get a hole in one (thanks to Mommy on hole 8).

Charlie gives putt-putt golf two thumbs up!

Beaverton Farmers Market...

Charlie, Victor & I headed out for breakfast at the farmers market. Surprisingly it wasn't crowded at all? Guess everyone was out in Seaside cheering on all the Hood & Portland to Coasters this weekend??

Anyway, the three of us had a great time. We picked up some peaches, blueberries and the cookie people even had black/white cookies for Victor (his favorites)!

Italian Festa...

Victor, Charlie & I met up with Angie, Laura, Karen & Garland Friday night in downtown Portland at the annual Italian Festa! We had a great time eating, listening to music and of course laughing!

Here are some fun photos from the evening...I didn't take any photos of the most entertaining part of the evening--watching 6 Portland Police Officers deal with a very unhappy man who seemed just a little out of sorts...so much out of sorts that the dude was evening yelling at one of the police horses?? After about 90 minutes of watching, hand cuffing, they finally put him into a squad car and took him off to the poke!
