Staycation day 2, part 2...

Wednesday afternoon I took 1/2 day off and we went to see The Lorax.  Thank you Intel's GPTW (Great Place To Work) Team!  We all really liked it.

After our morning fun today, we picked up Victor at home and headed to OMSI.   Dad had renewed his family pass and added my name on, since mom isn't able to go on her own (for now).

It was crazy/busy today (due to the constant RAIN), but we didn't let rain stop us!  I really wanted Charlie to see the new Lego exhibit and it was AWESOME!

We also had passes for IMAX, so we saw Born To Be Wild (about orphaned orangutans and elephants).  It was a great movie!

After OMSI, we went to Kenny & Zuke's for a great dinner, then walked to Powell's to round out the evening!

Safety first!

Entrance to the Lego exhibit.

Love these crayons!

Aloha!

The little boy looking at his reflection in the puddle = AWESOME!

Story book castle coming straight out of the book.

Amazing potraits.

Mt. Rushmore

It's a little breezy...

Hanging out in the space capsule.

Chocolate Legos

She was suppose to be doing two thumbs up...

Victor's AMAZING sandwich...1/2 for dinner, the other 1/2 for lunch manana...

Charlie picked this book out at Powell's, all by herself...We read the first three chapters and will probably finish tomorrow...I'll have an entire post JUST for this awesome little book, chalk full of great knock knock jokes, similarities of things that have happened to me this week and CUPCAKES ideas!  It's set in Willow, OR (there is no such place)...just funny since we had NO idea when she picked it out that RAIN would be a theme...how ironic this week!

Pioneer Woman...

Charlotte and I attempted to meet The Pioneer Woman tonight at Powell's (Beaverton)....we got there before she made her appearance and there were just a few (HUNDRED) folks ahead of us...that many people and a 3-year old...not a good waiting combo! Oh well...glad she made it to Beaverton...lucky folks that got to meet her!

Choose your attitude!!!

FISH...One of my top 10 books of all time. I LOVE this book and can't recommend it enough! It's a super easy read and I find myself rereading it almost every year. If you need a little reminder that you DO ultimately make your day a great day, this little book will help you every time!

The four main concepts behind the World Famous Fish Monger's POSITIVE attitude and SUCCESS in their business is SIMPLE and EASY and totally DOABLE!
  • Choose your attitude
  • Play
  • Be present
  • Make their day

So, those of you that read my little blog, that might need a little reminder that LIFE IS GOOD...seriously, I can't recommend this book enough! AND, I double dog dare you to go to Pike Place Market in Seattle...hang out with the Fishmongers and NOT have them make your day!

Things helping me smile tonight...

I MUST be feeling better...I left work early today, took more drugs, went thru a lot of cough drops and had a few more coughing spells, BUT, I got my camera out tonight. Watched our first football game of the season (yeah Pittsburgh) and updated the blog!

Here's a few things around the house that helped me smile tonight!
