4th grade is going to rock!!!

The Promise of Oregon, featured kiddo...

A year ago when we transferred Charlotte to Dilley in December 2013, we had signed a waiver to have her photos or interviews used.  Fast forward to late October 2014 and we received a letter in the mail that the video for the Promise of Oregon would be released in November.  

Then last week we received another letter in the mail that Charlotte would be featured this week on the Promise of Oregon Facebook page.  

Happiness was receiving an email seeing her face on it, then checking FB and seeing this photo pop-up there too!

We still aren't sure how else they will be using this video, but if you watch and listen to all these amazing kids, makes the future not seem so bleak....gives me HOPE!

Dilley Holiday Bazaar...

We raised over $400 on Saturday for Relay For Life.  Wasn't sure what to expect, first grade school garage sale I've done with just crocheted items and coffee cozies.  What I did learn is the under $5 items is the way to go!  :)

Gifts for teachers...

Each year I crochet something for Charlotte to give to her new teacher.  This year I made a few more pencils so she could give them to her 3rd grade teacher, her 2nd grade teacher, her principal and the librarian.  She also like them so much I made one into a key chain and she has it on her back pack!  

Dilley's back to school BBQ...

We attended the Dilley back to school BBQ tonight hosted by the PTO!!  We had a good time and Charlotte was thrilled that three of her best buddies, James, Saya and Katelyn were there too!!! 

We also met Charlotte's 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Blanc who is new to Dilley this year.  She had subbed at Jackson last December-February for one of the 2/3rd blend teachers who had injured her knee.

Somebody, ME, had the brilliant idea to go skating after school, since Skate World is closing June 22nd.  It was a great idea, until I fell, hard on my tailbone and officially ended my skating career!  :(

First day at Dilley...

I dropped the Wee Bee off at school this morning.  We checked in with the office, then I took her down to Ms. Tionquiao.  I'm super happy with her as Charlotte's teacher.  I have friends whose kids had her in the 2nd grade and loved her, plus she's super technology driven, which now days is pretty much imperative!

Super proud at how brave, excited and ready she was for this next chapter.  Can't wait to pick her up from Grandma & Grandpa's this afternoon and hear all about her first day at Dilley!
