Mt. St. Helens showed the entire world what she could do....WOW....

I was 11 years old...it was a Sunday morning and I don't remember much else, except lots more ash that summer than you could possible imagine and my mom wearing a mask everywhere she went. Watching my dad & brother clean out the gutters on the house and filling lots and lots of 3 gallon buckets with ash.

You could see Mt. St. Helens from my bedroom window...I always thought pre-May 18th that it looked like an ice cream cone...now you can't see it from my old room, the neighbor's trees block the view....

WOW, 1980, that was a very interesting summer...

Hard to believe THIRTY years have gone by since that fateful Sunday morning...You could see Mt. St. Helens from my bedroom window as a child (until the neighbor's trees grew too high)....Before the volcano became active, it reminded me of the top of an ice cream cone...such a beautiful mountain. It's changed a bit, but it's still an amazing sight!

If you don't live in the NW and ever have the chance to get up there, you MUST go! If you do live in the NW and haven't been up there, NO EXCUSE, the views are awesome and the visitor centers are top notch too!

The rain is back today, so I'm pretty sure we won't be seeing the mountain for another week or so, but we sure got some great views over the weekend.

Mt. St. Helens...

Victor, Charlotte and I took a nice day trip up to Mt. St. Helens today...perfect weather, not too crowded and it was FUN!
