Memorial Day 2011...

I went to see Bridesmaids with Bev this morning....it's is HYSTERICALLY funny. My folks probably wouldn't like it, but I think Melissa McCarthy from Mike & Molly stole the movie!!! :)

Victor, Charlotte and I went up to my parent's home later in the afternoon to have dinner and just visit....lots of busy weekends coming up...pretty much every weekend between now and the end of August have something planned...this was the lull before the storm (good storm), just really, REALLY busy....

Today was beautiful (on and off)...took this cellphone photo in my parents back yard...Life is good!

Yeah, he's home...

Victor and the boys are back from Olympia. They had a great time at Enfilade...

For Doreen...

Tonight's walk/run was in honor and SUPPORT of Doreen. She is having the Gamma Knife procedure tomorrow to remove her brain tumors! Please keep Doreen, her family/friends and the medical folks taking care of her in your prayers!

For Sue...

Tonight I did more jogging than walking with my 3.56 miles. While the rest of the world was watching Idol/Dancing or Glee, I was out in honor and SUPPORT of my friend Sue. I was blessed to have met Sue a little over 2 years ago thru Relay. Sue has had and beaten 3 different types of cancer, only to be diagnosed less than 2 months ago with yet a 4th type. They have caught it in the early stages, but Sue and her family can still use all the prayers we can send their way.

Sue is a wonderful mother and friend! She lights up a room and she inspires me to do more!!! Hugs to you my friend! You WILL beat this a 4th time!!!

and the last time she did this at school, I gave her a heads up..."you put it on, YOU take it off"...she scrubbed for over 30 minutes...we are taking a break....this is the BEFORE photo...

Unlike the scary ones we saw yesterday in Pirates 4...Cracks me up how Sunday morning baths are the easiest ones to give her...

East County Youth Relay...

Charlotte and I spent a couple of hours hanging out with Dana and the East County Youth at Reynolds High School. Lots of students, faculty and FUN! They actually have their "track" inside the commons area and camp out there too!

Great job by everyone...things were rocking!

Captain Jack's still got it, Savvy?

Charlotte, Victor and I enjoyed an hour of pirate FUN at Beaverton's Cedar Hills Crossing movie theater. Thanks to Intel's GPTW (Great Place To Work) Team and Radio Disney. Lots of fun stuff for the kids (face painting, newspaper swords, photos and MORE)!

Movie was good...I still think the first is my favorite, but we had FUN! Charlotte was asking me after why the mermaids were so mean...I told her that mermaids are PRETEND and not all of them are bad...she still enjoyed the movie and thinks Captain Jack is pretty cool!

Afternoon walk...

The weather today was PERFECT!!! It might have hit 75 degrees, I have no clue...it was just PERFECT!

3.2 miles (Charlotte doing at least 2 miles of it---with Victor carrying her part of the way, because a certain little 5-year old didn't wear socks and wasn't liking the way her feet were feeling)...she WILL listen next time.

Today = AWESOME!!!

31 years ago....

Mt. St. Helens showed the entire world what she could do....WOW....

I was 11 years old...it was a Sunday morning and I don't remember much else, except lots more ash that summer than you could possible imagine and my mom wearing a mask everywhere she went. Watching my dad & brother clean out the gutters on the house and filling lots and lots of 3 gallon buckets with ash.

You could see Mt. St. Helens from my bedroom window...I always thought pre-May 18th that it looked like an ice cream cone...now you can't see it from my old room, the neighbor's trees block the view....

WOW, 1980, that was a very interesting summer...

We made it on the jumbo tron...

and I was obviously REALLY excited about it....I think it was Maria (covered by her own sign behind me) and Mary's sign that did it!!!

Charlotte's 5th bee-day party...

We had a great time this afternoon at Charlotte's gymnastics school having her bee-day party. Lots of her friends (school, Relay, family and mommy's work friends kids) enjoyed a couple of hours of running around like crazy, jumping and having FUN!!!

So good to see everybody, even for just a short bit of time. All the kiddos had FUN and that's what it's all about. We had asked for no gifts, although some did listen, many did not, so we opened gifts at home after the party.

Charlotte is a lucky little girl to have so many little friends. Today was a GREAT day!
