Be The Match...

Today was pretty awesome! I got a phone call from Be The Match that I am a possible match as a bone marrow donor for a 51-year old patient who is in need of a bone marrow transplant.  Needless to say I'm beyond excited that if this does happen, the thought of actually helping save someone's life, that's something I never thought I'd personally be able to do!

This isn't a done deal. I've got more tests to take and it'll be 6-8 weeks after the tests before I know for sure if I'm the best match and we would proceed.  But the thought of actually being able to do this for someone is beyond my comprehension!

Little did I know 3.5 years ago when this photo was taken, just where it might lead....

This morning I really didn't want to get up and start walking/jogging again...Then I got up and read FaceBook and got dressed and headed out to the track.

Please keep my friend Jen and her family in your thoughts & prayers. She starts chemo today...

Patrick Swayze...

I just found out that he lost his 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer today. I remember watching him and his wife on the Barbara Walter's special early this year and just being in awe of his love for life and his family, his will to keep going and his positive attitude to take each day and make the most of it!

Ghost, Point Break and of course Dirty Dancing are all favorites in my DVD/VHS collection!
