Well, it's now just 2 days past my due date! Victor and I were really hoping that Charlie would be on-time, but it looks like that wasn't in the cards.....I had chinese food on Friday 05/05/06 with some friends from work and my fortune cookie was just TOO perfect...."Be Patient! Good things come to those who wait!" How IRONIC was that fortune??
My lower back is still bugging me, but at least I'm at home most of the time and taking it easy....I'm still not sleeping very much (another sign of things to come), but at least once Charlie gets here..there will be a reason for me NOT sleeping! Can't wait to meet our little girl...SOON!
Victor and I went and saw Mission Impossible 3 on Friday night. I liked it the best of the 3 movies. I really wanted to see it (not because of Mr. Cruise), but because the creator of Alias & LOST is the director. I thought it was a very fast paced, action packed movie that I personally would recommend. Charlie either loved it or the noise & mommy catching her breath a couple of times during the movie scared her. We did end up having a couple of contractions after the movie, we came home, packed our hospital bag (FINALLY--my fault for procrastinating, not Victor's) and then I took a long shower and shaved my legs (LOL). Then NOTHING...no more contractions (Murphy's Law).
We see the doctor again on Thursday 5/11....The plan as of this morning was to see how things were going (down there) and then possibly check me in to the hospital Thursday night to start cervical rippening...need to read up on that. I totally trust Dr. Korman and told her to do whatever she thinks is best! I really want her to be the doc that delivers Charlie (if possible).
More later......Kathy

In the beginning...Charlie gets her own blog...
Hi there....it's 5:03am on a Monday morning...I LOVE Mondays..most people that don't know me would think I'm crazy for liking them, but I don't have to work on Mondays! It's early, couldn't sleep (again)...getting too anxious for our new little one to be born!
I decided a few weeks ago that I needed to have some real way of keeping track of the life & times of our daughter Charlie (Charlotte Frances Cina). She isn't due for another 4 weeks, but I knew if I didn't start really typing things out soon and getting use to blogging, it wouldn't happen.
A lot has happened in the last 8 months....Hard to believe I've actually been pregnant that long (well recently, not so hard to believe). Victor and I have been so lucky that this pregnancy has gone so smooth!!! My only real issue has been my bouts of insomnia...I'm lucky if I get 4-5 solid hours of sleep a night...I went to bed at 11pm and was WIDE awake by 3am.
Other than that, no issues! I've got a couple of the typical pregnancy symptoms (lower back pain, tiredness, slight heart burn occassionally), but other than that, we are blessed, truly blessed that everything has gone so well.
I had my last baby shower Saturday 4/8/06...I had a wonderful surprise that quite a few folks were in on and nobody spilled the beans. My sister-in-law Kellie & niece Kaylie (20 months) flew up from San Diego Friday afternoon...I didn't know about them being here until Saturday morning when I went over to my parents house to hang out before the shower. It's funny, I had this feeling someone was going to show-up that I wasn't expecting from out of town, it just never dawned on me it would be Kellie & Kaylie!
We had a great time on Saturday...about 27 of my good friends where there. Still can't believe that many people showed up. One of my best friends (Kim Rohr) put the whole thing together. I begged her for "no silly baby games" and she pretty much obliged. Only the clothes pin (don't say the word baby) game had to be indured...nobody complained..they actually had fun trying to get other people to say it. Kim also came up with a cool "activity"...she had cut out pieces of felt into shapes (fish, turtles, seaweed) and had puffy paints for everyone to use to decorate. She also had a bulletin board that she put felt on, so we can hang it in Charlie's room to help decorate it (with more fishy stuff).
What you need to know about me is that I have a slight tropical fish fetish. I love fish...how can you not look at a fun tropical fish and NOT smile! I'm all about smiling/laughing! Victor and I both are, so hopefully Charlie will be the same way! Happy!!!
Anyway, we had a great time at at this last shower...so many gifts..I think people went overboard, but then again, if you would have told me a year ago that I'd be married and having a baby, I would have bet you a million dollars NO WAY! Victor is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me and vice-versa! It only took us 36 years to find each other...but as I always said...the right guy is out there for me (someone who is nice & makes me laugh)..he's just too stuborn to stop and ask for directions...well, he finally did and we found each other.
That's it for now...stay tuned for some pictures...gotta get Charlie's ultra sounds scanned and a few of mommy/daddy before the blessed birth actually happens.
Charlie's mom...over & out!
