Gig Harbor fun...

Victor, Charlie and I headed up to Gig Harbor early on Thursday to spend 48-hours with Kim, Andy, Amy, Karla and little Megan. The weather was perfect on Thursday...82 degrees in Portland, 75 and SUNNY at their place. The kiddos played in the sprinklers outside for a few hours and then we had dinner and made s'mores in the fire pit!

Friday we woke-up to drizzle, but still not too bad....We went to Penrose State Park and had a blast finding little itsy-bity crabs, moon snails and TONS of tiny sand dollars...I was in sand dollar heaven. Charlie kinda freaked out with the "creatures", but we had fun walking out on the spit, even in the drizzle. By the time we walked back and had lunch at over looking the bay, the spit was completely gone, time for the tide to come in. We even saw a bald eagle fishing! Friday evening the three older girls enjoyed an hour of musical theater (where Amy/Karla go every Friday), then we went into Gig Harbor for a tour, walked along the public dock and saw thousands and thousands of jelly fish! Apparently it's jelly fish breeding season. We topped the night off with mexican dinner at a local joint and then strawberry shortcake.

Saturday it was pouring, so we stayed inside and then around noon the three of us headed towards home.

Thank you Rohr Family for a great 48-hours!!

Hopefully next time the weather will be nicer so we can go out for a spin around the sound.

2012 Raffle Quilt - Climbing For A Cure...

Rosemary has done another OUTSTANDING job on our latest Raffle Quilt. She's been making them for us since 2006. This year we had TWO quilts, so eight quilts have raised over $11,000 and counting! Yahoo! The pattern name is "Fire Escape" and we thought "Climbing For A Cure" seemed like the obvious name. It's a lap size, 60" x 70" quilt and this photo does NOT do it justice! Let me know if you'd like to purchase some tickets!

Beaverton's Bark For Life '12...

Saturday was Beaverton's 3rd Annual Bark For Life. New location, Greenway Park and it was great! Lots of folks played a huge role in making this a success! We borrowed mom & dad's doggies (Jessie & Murphy) for the event and they had fun, albeit were exhausted with so much excitement!
